GH SMIT and Justin Meades propelled St Pierre to a massive and possibly record evening league score at Port Soif last night. The big-hitters in black, smashed 118 and 85 respectively as St Pierre rattled up a massive 242 for three in just 20 overs.

No Griffins bowler escaped the onslaught which started when Carl Le Tissier and Smit took 22 from Mark Latter's opening over.

Smit crashed eight fours and six sixes and shared in a second-wicket stand of 178 with Meades who cleared the boundary five times.

And to think Griffins had wanted to play a 22-over game.

The total is thought to be the biggest in the history of Division One cricket, although not the first time 200 has been achieved.

At KGV, title challengers Cobo enjoyed their own run feast, taking 185 off the Chandlers attack with TJ Ozanne hitting 82 and Jamie Nussbaumer 61.
