ROLAND MILLS and Helen Banks won this year's La Grande Mare club strokeplay titles played over 36 holes. Mills was a clear winner of the men's trophy with a gross 139, while Banks had to come through a sudden-death play-off with Nikki Coquelin and in so doing secured the title for a fifth time.
The winners off handicap were Wayne Martel and Carol Duncan with Mandy Hardman and Matt Neville the respective runners-up.
Matt Buckley won category three and Ken Wrigley the bottom division.
Coquelin gained some consolation for missing out on the main club title by pipping Banks and Louise Loveridge to land the final medal event of the season, the Rabey's Group Trophy.
Coquelin shot a net 65 to win by one from Banks and Loveridge.
Rose Adcock won the Stableford event run in conjunction with the main event while Jayne Golborne was the overall winner of the Gryphon Trophy which attracted a large entry and some fine scores on a superb autumn day for golf.
Golborne scored 42 Stableford points to win on countback from Kathryn Touzeau.
Top prize among the silver division players was won by Marilyn Pugh with 40, five clear ahead of Helen Banks.
James Adcock held his nerve to win a tight contest for this year's honour of being the L'Ancresse Golf Club's most consistent performer.
Sandy Trophy points are awarded to the top 20 in each medal competition over the season, with the winner getting 20 points all the way down to one for 20th.
It is one of the most sought-after trophies in the club and competition towards the end is always keen.
This year was no exception.
Adcock had been in the lead for most of the season, but going into the final competition, half-a-dozen or so players were still in with a chance.
In the end, the top two, Adcock and Andy Walden, his closest rival, failed to manage a top 20 finish, but with none of the other outsiders making the higher echelons, Adcock was safe.
In matchplay, Dave Collenette beat Shay Wade one up to win the club singles championship for the Gosselin Cup.
In the semis Wade beat Phil Miles and Collenette defeated Mick Hamon.
Miles went one better in the Labey Malet, the club's drawn pairs championship. Playing with 15-handicap Harry Prince, Miles, off six, beat Andy Dawson and Dougie Howson 2 and 1.
