ST ANDREW'S School's PTA has combined road safety with its campaign to save the school.

All 150 pupils and preschool children have been issued with reflective high- visibility vests which bear the message St Andrew's Forever. These were organised by PTA member Rachel Bridle.

'A total of 55% of pupils walk,' she said. 'It's one of the things that makes it such a special community school. The PTA agreed that road- safety vests would be invaluable for the children as they travel to and from school and we decided to use the space on the back to remind everyone that we are determined to keep St Andrew's open. We would like to thank David Rowe, from Industrial and Leisure Clothing, as he gave us a good deal.'
