YOU live to regret giving a player of Jeremy Frith's class a chance, let alone two.

Elizabeth College contrived on Saturday to drop the island all-rounder early in his innings at slip and then again at deep mid-wicket, the ball after he had reached 50 and they paid a heavy price as he went on to make an unbeaten century in Cobo's comfortable 97-run victory at the College Field.

Frith later joked that the two offenders on this occasion – Adam Hindle and Jonny Clark respectively – knew what was good for them because as the island's high performance coach he works closely with the duo as part of the Sussex sub-academy set-up here.

He was certainly grateful because his 103 not out was just what he needed to kick-start his season. He came to the wicket in the seventh over after Guernsey opener Matt Oliver had departed for a run-a-ball 17, bowled by left-armer Clark.
