'Kids' deserve their shot against Jersey champions
ARGYLL INVESTMENT are going with 'kids' tomorrow as they look to repeat their last year's victory over Romerils in the NatWest CI Club Championship.
ARGYLL INVESTMENT are going with 'kids' tomorrow as they look to repeat their last year's victory over Romerils in the NatWest CI Club Championship.
When known as Mavericks, Argylls caused a massive upset in defeating the Jersey champions by six wickets in the opening round of last season's competition.
No doubt spurred on by the victory, the Guernsey team made their way to the final in which Old Victorians undid them. This year again Romerils find themselves the best team in Jersey, while Argylls made the CIs by finishing fourth in the domestic league.
They have lost GH Smit to Rovers, a number of their older players are gradually winding down and tomorrow sees them walk onto the field for the group A match with a youthful look about them. 'They warrant their spot,' said Argylls captain Justin Meades about his juniors.
