THE biggest ever touch league locally ended with two thrilling drop-offs.

With a record 36 teams taking part in this year's Ernst & Young Summer Touch League, the final night of games was the highlight of the 12-week season.

'It was a fantastic end to what has been our most successful season to date.

'There have been some great games in the run-up to the semi-finals and finals but the standard has yet again been raised over the last two weeks and there are some teams who will be challenging the more established teams next year,' said Guernsey Touch chairman Andrew Hutton.

In the Mixed A final, Brotown met Source Sorcerers in what was set to be a closely fought battle.

After 25 minutes, the game was tied at 2-2 and so each team went down to five players and it was less than two minutes before Brotown took the trophy thanks to the pace of Rory Jones who scored the winning try.
