BELS enjoyed a perfect day in the Rawlinson Cup by taking the first two spots in the semi-finals.

After their senior side had seen off the challenge of a spirited Rangers, the Bels U-21 development team earned a surprising but deserved victory over Vale Rec. The only goal of a tense and scrappy game came from Daniel Stewart and it was one worthy of winning any match.

He picked up the ball about 35 yards from goal, before unleashing a stunning curling shot into the top corner of Jody Bisson's net. With the goal just before half-time, the game took on a totally different complexion and Rec regretted wasting numerous chances.

The best of those arguably fell to debutant Kyle Bisson, who blasted into the side netting when he really should have worked keeper Scott Rowe from close range.
