A WOMAN is appealing for the return of her garden gate. Sophie Richards woke on Saturday and was amazed to find it had been stolen.

'We heard some noise in the night, but didn't think much of it. When we got up and saw it was gone, I was so surprised.'

Much of that surprise was due to the effort that she believes would have been needed to take the gate.

'A van must have pulled up and they unscrewed the gate. It certainly isn't something that you expect.'
