Guernsey's push for promotion starts now
ANYTHING other than promotion is not an option for the new Guernsey first-team rugby union captain.
ANYTHING other than promotion is not an option for the new Guernsey first-team rugby union captain.
Simon Sharrott (pictured) admitted that he is 'really excited' about the forthcoming London Three South-West campaign and has called for his side to hit the ground running away to Wimbledon on Saturday.
'We have got to lay the foundations from the first kick-off and show that we are the people to beat in this division,' he said. 'We have shown that in previous seasons at times: we just need to be more consistent in our performances.'
Guernsey finished fourth in the division last season, losing eight of their 22 matches. The heaviest defeat was by a margin of only five points and Sharrott is desperate to turn those narrow losses into victories in future.
'We cannot let that keep happening,' he said.
