Do they turn professional or not? The Guernsey Velo Club's top two juniors both finished on the podium, with McLaughlin coming second and Arblaster third.
Their performances came as no surprise, though, the organisers having made them the top two seeds based on their performances at the national 10-mile championship earlier this season. Guernsey Velo Club president Gary Wallbridge admitted that they were two very special talents.
'For their age, it is fair to say they are probably the two best talents the Guernsey Velo Club has ever had. We now hope they will continue to improve in the coming months and years.' The future certainly looks bright for both lads.
Although McLaughlin will enter the senior ranks for next season, Arblaster still has a further year at the junior level and it certainly wouldn't be a surprise to see him challenging and possibly winning in the major national events again next year.
