This season has not been the best for Guernsey.
It saw a fruitless trip to the UK that included defeats to Kenya, the Sussex Academy and the Sussex League XI.
But more disappointing was the inter-insular loss and an unbelievable defeat at the hands of Jersey in the climax of the ICC European Division Two Championship. When victory looked assured, the Sarnians lost five wickets for five runs to hand Jersey the honours.
As part of Sussex County Cricket Club's partnership with the Guernsey Cricket Board, the county's Academy coach, Andy Cornford (pictured), works with the senior team, among his other roles. He lent his views on the issue.
'The domestic cricket structure clearly needs to be reviewed with a view to coming up with a format which tests our leading players more fully and far more regularly than at present and the island squad players are fully aware of our concerns on this front,' he said.
