BEN DRIVER led by magnificent example on Saturday as Wanderers became Channel Islands club champions.

They deservedly took the title thanks to a four-wicket win over Cobo at the KGV with the skipper hitting an unbeaten 59 to guide his side home.

As well as picking up the cup, Driver also took home the man-of-the-match award, but he was full of praise for his bowling attack, who in truth won Wanderers the game.

'We set the tone with our bowling and fielding,' Driver said. 'We fielded probably the best we have done all season, which backed up our bowling, which was tight once again. It was a hard wicket to score runs on and we knew if we could keep them to 150, we would have a chance.'

Wanderers did just that as Cobo were restricted to 152 for nine from their allotted 45 overs.
