GARRY DODD opened his season in style as he romped to victory in the first open tournament of the campaign, the Senior Group tournament, by defeating Lions A teammate Phil Ogier in an entertaining final.
On Monday evening, just two days prior to departing for the Commonwealth Youth Games in Pune, India, Dodd claimed the title that had previously eluded him.
The tournament went with the formbook through the group stage and opening knockout round: all eight seeds progressed to the quarter-finals.
Dodd (pictured) romped past Adam Langlois in the first quarter-final, dropping just 13 points in the process, and he was joined in the last four by the number three seed, Oliver Langlois, who dispatched Paul Hainsworth in four games.
