ANYON ROBILLIARD suffered worrying injuries and a trip to hospital to mar day one of the Relentless two-day meeting at Pleinmont.

The Guernsey stalwart and motocross captain had won the opening adult open race of the weekend, but then crashed in the next and was taken to hospital by ambulance.

Thankfully, he was released from the PEH on saturday evening with two cracked ribs and bruised kidneys and could be riding again in a fortnight. Robilliard's crash was one of several which delayed the programme held under blue skies and on a hard, fast track.

Record numbers were attracted over, so many that organiser John Le Page found himself having to turn some away.

But one he wasn't going to decline was Danny Tollett, the star attraction from Cheshire. Tollett – a former world championship racer, opted to race only after coming over to teach local riders as part of his academy – liked what he saw of the Guernsey track and opted to stay over and race.

But, surprisingly, he did not have things his own way on day one, Jersey's Harry Bertram beating him in two of the three MX2 class races which, like the adult open, attracted a full-house 20 entries.
