Pleased as a Sharrott
GUERNSEY produced the sort of performance on Saturday that their captain Simon Sharrott has been craving.
GUERNSEY produced the sort of performance on Saturday that their captain Simon Sharrott has been craving. Until the visit of London Cornish, the Greens had suffered a disappointing start to their London Three South-West campaign.
However, their impressive 25-6 victory at Foote's Lane over the previously undefeated black-and-gold outfit from Roehampton might just be the catalyst they require for a promotion push.
'It was a comprehensive win,' said a delighted skipper. 'The boys had been working really hard in training during the week, although Thursday night was a bit of a nightmare with the amount of ball being knocked on and mistakes we were making.
'But we turned up today and had the right attitude.'
No one epitomised that attitude more than fullback Cameron Patten, who had an immense game with two try-saving tackles in defence and Guernsey's opening five-pointer at the other end.
