GUERNSEY'S top women players aim to emulate the form of their male counterparts when they play Richmond HC away in the second round of the HA Trophy tomorrow.

The Investec-sponsored squad had a first-round bye so are untested at this level this season. However, they have been training hard every Wednesday and has benefited from playing against local men's opposition in Division Two of the Investec League, registering two victories and eight goals in five matches.

Skipper Mickie De Vial (pictured) is excited at the team's prospects. 'The girls have worked really hard, both at training and in matches building up to this Richmond game.

'The combination of experience from previous squad members with the added dynamism of the rapidly developing newer players should ensure that we are a team to be reckoned with and not to be underestimated.'

Richmond Ladies' First XI play in the South League Division 3B.
