BRUNO BIGELIS' long-awaited Guernsey debut turned out to be something of an anti-climax at Friday's night dinner boxing show at St Pierre Park Hotel.

There has been a lot of hype around the former junior Latvian national champion since he arrived in the island earlier this year.

And after he missed out at last month's open show, there was plenty of eager anticipation for his top-of-the-bill clash with Wadi 'The Macho Man' Camacho, who was representing Dagenham Police and Community Team.

But clearly no one had told the 23-year-old Camacho of the script as he stopped Bigelis in the second round. To be fair to Bigelis, the 6ft 4in. southpaw Camacho was no mug.

According to Amalgamated Boys' Boxing Club's head coach Graham Guilbert, Camacho is rated the second-best heavyweight amateur boxer in the country and is representing England against Ireland next month.
