ROOS' shooting combination of Kiara De Carteret and Jenny Craze fired their netball team to a 36-30 win over Panthers in the Condor Super League, but it was not without a scare.

Both shooters enjoyed a great game, splitting the Panthers defence with fine drives through the middle of the circle and converting their shots.

By three-quarter-time, Roos led by 11. But, with Claire Queripel in full flight, Panthers pulled off some good interceptions as Roos started to find life difficult and it was the dogged determination of GK Zola Bourgaize that kept them ahead until the final whistle.

Experience's desired to avoid successive defeats saw them win the second game of the night against Zebras.

In another good encounter, the Vets punished any missed shot from their opponents by sending the ball down court to score themselves.

They held a 30-22 lead at half-time before drawing the third quarter and edging the fourth by two for an important win.
