Neves wins six golds competing at same meeting as Olympic golden girl Adlington

KRISTINA NEVES (pictured) rubbed shoulders with double Olympic gold medallist Rebecca Adlington at the weekend.

The 12-year-old Guernsey Swimming Club star, who is sponsored by Rothschilds, competed in the Christmas Cracker Swimming Competition which was held in the new 50m, 10-lane swimming pool at the John Charles Centre, Leeds.

A number of the Great Britain Olympic swimming squad were there, including Adlington, who came third in the BBC Sport Personality of the Year competition on the back of her two golds in Beijing.

Also present was Joanne Jackson, who at this year's Olympics finished behind Adlington in the 400m freestyle to take the bronze.

Olympians David Davies and Liam Tancock featured in the pool as well.

'It was fantastic,' said Neves' father, Bruno. 'Literally everyone was together. It gave the kids a Christmas present.'
