COMMONWEALTH Games stars Ian Powell and Tom Hollingsworth have been flying the Guernsey flag and setting personal bests across the world.
Hollingsworth recently took part in the SCU Metropolitan Long Course Championships in Sydney, Australia, while fellow Beau Sejour Barracuda, Ian Powell, who is based at Florida State University in Tallahassee, competed in the USA Short Course Championships.
Powell, 23 (pictured), enjoyed a particularly successful time in the Georgia Tech pool, Atlanta.
'I was really happy with it as it was pretty much the first meet of the season,' he said.
In the 200-yard butterfly, Powell swam 1min. 44.29 sec. Converted to metres the time would give him a short course personal best of 1-56.40.
He also produced a further personal best of 53.2, when converted to metres, in the 100-yard butterfly.
