DAVE HEARSE has named a young island training squad ahead of the World Cricket League Division Seven in May.
The Guernsey manager has selected a 25-man squad of which a number of the players have come up through the development programme.
'I think I've proved that I've got no issues in bringing in younger players,' said Hearse.
'If they are good enough, they are old enough.'
Among those named are Jonny Clark, Luke Nussbaumer, Dave Hooper, Tom Kirk and Will Peatfield.
All five, along with established senior Guernsey performer Jamie Nussbaumer, went to the Academy Arch Tournament in the UAE before Christmas with the Guernsey Development side.
They took on the UAE junior team and Glamorgan, Sussex and Yorkshire's academy outfits.
Also selected is Rovers' young and exciting all-rounder Robbie Le Corre.
Argyll Investments' wicketkeeper-batsman Tom Kimber, son of former island star Gary, is in the mix as is rising star Tim Ravenscroft, who broke into the senior set up last season.
