ST JACQUES were crushed under the Jersey Seconds juggernaut at the weekend.
What is basically the Jersey first team from a couple of years ago combined with some promising younger players, the Seconds have dominated the JRA League.
They have inflicted a number of crushing defeats this season, including getting the better of St Jacques 81-3 earlier on in the campaign, and at the KGV on Saturday, they continued in the same vein.
'I am disappointed that we didn't give a better account of ourselves,' said St Jacques coach Chris Griffiths.
'We played a strong visiting side from Horley just before Christmas and won 25-10, which allowed me to believe that we were capable of a much closer result.
'However, having said that, Jersey Seconds are a class act and in reality play at a pace and skill level a few leagues above the JRA League, so it was always going to be about defence today and unfortunately we just didn't communicate well enough to shut them out.'
The match nearly did not get played due to the extreme frost that had settled the night before.
