A NEW LOOK Sarnians A line-up showed plenty of promise as they started the second round of the Praxis Winter Netball League against the champions.

Although the well-oiled Nerine A machine came out on top 48-26, their opponents did well in claiming a point.

In attack Jane Fears partnered Bridget Yabsley in the circle while Laura Callaway slotted in at WA and the flow was good as Ellen Jones linked them with the defence of evergreen WD Michelle Phillips and the youthful new partnership of Mo Ruddy and Emily Batiste.

For Nerine, who have still to finish their first round programme against their C team, Anna Trump was in devastating form and her shots were raining in from all over the circle.

In the clash of Nerine B and C, the latter were let down by a slow start as after the first quarter the match was even.

However, slipping to an early 11-1 deficit was the C team's downfall as they lost 31-19.

There were some very strong performances from Claire and Leah Green for B, while the C team saw Carrie Dodd fight for everything in the mid-court and Shelley Jager, once she found her range, was on fire.
