A GLEEFUL Jordan Reynalds was only too pleased to reveal the secret of Guernsey's latest success after Saturday's impressive victory.

'I have had them knocking hell out of each other in training this week,' said the player-coach - with the grin of someone who could not take part in his own sessions due to injury.

Whatever they did on Tuesday and Thursday, however, certainly reaped handsome dividends at the weekend.

This was a rip-roaring encounter played at tremendous pace between two sides whose mid-table positions belie their ability.

One seasoned observer described London South Africa as the best side to visit Foote's Lane this season and Reynalds added that the visitors had arrived confident of success.

But Guernsey raised their game to suit the occasion and produced some sublime and adventurous rugby.

'A couple of hard weeks' training has paid off,' said captain Simon Sharrott.

'We have been working on set pieces and phase-on-phase play to move the opposition around until we have our backs against their forwards and utilise our pace.

'That really showed today in two or three of the tries we scored. Our hands were excellent as well.'
