LA GRANDE MARE want to take full advantage of their home draw as the local rounds of the 2009 Hampshire Sevens get under way tomorrow morning.
St Pierre Park are the visitors to the west coast for a preliminary round tie and the winners' reward will be a home match against the Royal Guernsey.
LGM captain Nigel Mallett is confident that his side can progress into the first round proper.
'The squad that I now have is strong enough to take anybody on,' he said.
'I have high hopes of a win on Sunday, even though a number of the St Pierre Park team play a lot of their golf at La Grande Mare.'
The LGM team contains handicaps from five to 11 with clubs being allowed to include anything up to 15 in these days of the competition being played off full handicap.
'This format allows selection from a lot more of the membership, not just your top and low handicap players,' Mallett said.
