GUERNSEY will take on Bristol University of West of England in the semi-finals of the Harrod UK Men's hockey Trophy.

Following their stunning 7-1 victory over Worthing on Sunday in front of more than 300 supporters at Foote's Lane, they were pulled out of the hat yesterday to travel to Bristol.

This is the furthest the island side has ever reached in the national competition.

Guernsey's player-coach Ben Allberry was not too bothered as to whom they play.

'It's much of a muchness in the semis,' he said.

'Now we've got to this stage it's a case of going one step further.'

The other semi-final sees Henley take on Didsbury Northern.

Didsbury of Manchester got past Jersey in the quarters on Sunday.

The match went to penalty flicks when the score was 3-3 after normal time.

The Manchester side scored three times from the spot while Jersey found the back of the net twice.
