GUERNSEY are raring to go to try to halt the tide of Jersey victories in this weekend's inter-insulars at Beau Sejour.

Last year in Jersey, only the Sarnian Vets tasted success out of seven matches.

And it was the third year in a row that the Greens lost the main event, the Senior A match.

'We're looking for revenge this year,' said Guernsey Senior A and B coach James Robert.

'We're quite confident. The girls have worked really hard and they are really up for it.

'I'm sure we can put in some good performances and turn it around.'

There are no real surprises in the squad that Robert has announced for the big match of the year.

He has handed a debut to 16-year-old star Tiff Gervaise-Brazier, who went to England trials earlier on in the season.

'She's playing really well and she's come on in leaps and bounds,' said Robert.

'She's showed her worth in the Super League. She's got a lot of maturity on the court for her age.'

Also picked is Becky Warren, who is back in the mix having returned from university.

One person missing, though, is last year's captain Claire Queripel, who has stepped away from the sport.

Goal defence Cassie Le Page will take the captain's armband.

'I was very surprised to be asked and I'm very honoured,' said the 28-year-old.

'We're looking forward to it. We've prepared well, we've trained hard and hopefully we'll take the victory.'
