MICK MARLEY was solid while Daniel Wallace was spectacular as they won the Senior and Junior cups respectively.

The Royal Guernsey medal competition, sponsored by Friquet Plant Centre, took place between showers at L'Ancresse as golfers with a 12 handicap or under played for the Senior Cup, with those playing off more competing for the Junior.

Senior Cup and scratch prize winner Marley (pictured), playing off of two, played his round three under par, scoring a net 67.

Island star Marley pretty much went round the course in regulation.

Apart from birdies at the two par fives and a bogey at 16 to spoil his card, he parred the other 15 holes.

Runner-up was six-handicapper Mark Allez, who shot a net 68.

Allez's round included two birdies at 12 and 18 and a seven at the second.

Wallace won the Junior Cup with a remarkable nine under par, shooting a net 61 off his 15 handicap.
