DIVISION ONE continues to be a steep learning curve for new boys Strollers.
DIVISION ONE continues to be a steep learning curve for new boys Strollers.
After suffering a heavy defeat in their first match in the top flight with Optimists a couple of weeks ago, last night saw them lose their second game as Cobo won by eight wickets at Port Soif.
'What we didn't do was pick up four people who have maybe got Division One experience,' said Strollers' captain Mike Reed.
'We didn't do that and that was our fault. We need to find a couple of teams that we can take on.
'In the next few weeks we've got Grant Thornton and St Saviour's, and they might be a bit closer.'
Batting first, Strollers could manage only 85, with Reed, who had his first game back after having a hip operation earlier in the year, top scoring with 23.
Cobo knocked off the runs in the 12th over for the loss of two wickets.
The match was also memorable for the fact it witnessed the first woman to play in Evening League Division One.
Lisa Batty of Loch Lomond moved to the island nine months ago and has 22 Scottish Ladies caps to her name.
