PAUL LE SAUVAGE was awarded with the Merit Trophy at the annual snooker presentation evening in front of a full house at the Gremlin Club.

The award, chosen by the GB&SA executive committee for an outstanding performance or performances during the season, was presented to the Gremlin Galacticos star for a great 106 clearance in January - his first competitive ton - and a brilliant win in the snooker Upton.

Playing against Aaron Canavan of Jersey side Mechanics CVS, Le Sauvage (pictured) destroyed the 2008 CI champion 3-0 to help the Galacticos win 9-3.

Meanwhile, the final match of the snooker season saw Adam Shorto and Glenn Le Prevost beat Ricky Dodd and Matt Martel to win the pairs handicap title.

The Galacticos duo won 3-1 to claim the title that they last won two years running in 2002 and 2003, with Shorto in particularly sparkling form.

The Premier pair took the first frame before being pegged back by Dodd and Martel of North Social G.

But when Shorto fired in breaks of 61 and 40 in the next two frames, the division two pairing's fine run had come to an end.
