VALE REC are accepting the decision not to bring back Youth One football – for the time being.

But they and Grand Fort neighbours North are clearly unhappy.

Vale tabled a resolution at Thursday evening's Guernsey Football Association AGM to re-instate the under-18 league next season, but it was rejected by 13 votes to 10.

'The club is disappointed obviously, but the vote has been taken and we've got to move on like we did last year,' said Rec secretary Lester Forman (pictured).

'There's nothing else we can do. It was a bit closer than it was last year, which is a good thing.

'We'll work with the GFA like we've always done. We'll review the position at the end of next year. We won't be giving up on it.'

The GFA dropped the under-18 league last year as part of their controversial four-year plan.

In place of it, they brought in an under-21 development league. Rec wanted this to be scrapped for a new competition called the GFA Under-18 Development League for 15 to 18-year-olds.
