GUERNSEY is set to stage its biggest ever boxing show next year in front of up to 3,000 people.
The event is set to be on 12 July 2010 at the Track and will feature 18 local boxers from the Amalgamated Boys' Club pitting themselves against English fighters.
Graham Guilbert (pictured), head coach of the Boys' Club, is excited at the thought.
'It has been talked about for years, but it looks like it is finally going to happen'.
The planned show has received significant help from the Belgraves Club committee, who own the venue.
Guilbert said: 'The Belgraves committee have bent over backwards to help us.
'Hilary Sarre and Ray Green have been particularly helpful'.
The show is set to feature Guernsey's first female boxers, one who had her first bout last Thursday and another who Guilbert said is 'ready to go'.
