LES CHANSONELLES' musical director Janet Bran has praised the surgeons and nurses who cared for her after a fall led to her needing three brain operations.
Mrs Bran (pictured) slipped on mud in January and was flown to the Wessex Neurological Centre at Southampton General Hospital, where she was diagnosed with a subdural haematoma - blood between the skull and brain.
Since then she has had to visit Southampton three more times to have built-up fluid drained from her brain.
'They were wonderful in Southampton - really brilliant,' she said.
'The first time was a real emergency, they saved my life. My surgeon met me at the door and they operated in the middle of the night.'
Mrs Bran, 69, said she and the nurses knew each other's names because she had seen them so many times.
She added that the neurologists were puzzled as to why she had a build-up of fluid after the first operation, but hopefully her latest had been her last.
