Bisson stays solid in the wind to win second title
DANNY BISSON managed to overcome the weather conditions to become L'Ancresse club champion for the second time at the weekend.
DANNY BISSON managed to overcome the weather conditions to become L'Ancresse club champion for the second time at the weekend.
The island star played solid golf to get around on Saturday in 71 and take the scratch honours on countback from Garry McFarlane, who shot a 77, with both players having finished on a two-round aggregate of 144.
'Over the two weeks the weather was just appalling,' Bisson said.
'Saturday was not very nice and it was very windy.'
The wind made the greens tricky and Bisson had to counter a few three putts with several birdies in his second round.
Overall, he was happy with his performance over the 36 holes.
'I have not really been playing that much,' said Bisson (pictured).
'I have been hitting it pretty well, but the short game has not been behaving itself, which is what can happen if you are not playing that often.
'But I am really enjoying my golf at the moment. Now that I have a family, golf is not the be-all and end-all so I try to enjoy it each time I play.'
