GUERNSEY'S top flight is about to get bigger and much more competitive with two new teams coming into the fold.

The Legis Independents Hockey Club have announced that they will re-enter a side in Investec Men's Division One for the first time in years, while social outfit Clubhouse Casuals are also entering the fray.

It follows the news that Investec Colombians will drop one of their first division teams into the second division.

With Coreix Unwantables, Cenkos Yobbos and the Deloitte Elizabeth College First XI already established, Division One will now have six teams fighting it out.

'I'm happy because we've basically got two new sides coming into the mix,' said the chief executive of Guernsey Hockey, Andy Roberts.

In February, Roberts (pictured) went on a drive to increase the number of sides in Division One.

He announced that he wanted a total of eight teams.

'So it had to be six or eight and I think eight would have been a push.'
