The team for the week in Hunstanton this year was a very young one, but had the quality to achieve the aim for the week, which was to stay in the group after achieving promotion the year before.
Agonisingly, it went down to the deciding set of the final rubber.
The team consisted of the successful Island Games pair from Guernsey of Patrick Ogier and Dominic McLuskey and was backed up with Jersey players James Connelly, James Faudemer, Jordan Roberts, Charlie Cohen and the playing captain, Andrew Evans.
Men's county week is a gruelling week consisting of three doubles pairs each playing three matches a day and playing against five counties from Monday to Friday, all on grass courts.
The five other counties in the CI's group were Lincolnshire, Gloucestershire, North Wales, Northamptonshire and Avon.
The CI team started off against Lincolnshire, who quickly showed why they were favourites to get promoted as the CI team went down 8-1 with only McLuskey and Ogier picking up a win.
