Both bowlers were on top of their game and produced gasps of amazement from the spectators at their brilliant display of how it should be done.

De la Mare got the better of the first three quarters of the match and led 20-9 after 18 ends.

However, Le Ber was not in a losing frame of mind and, despite all the different length tactics tried by de la Mare, he proved equal to it and astonishingly won eight ends on the trot to pip his dejected pairs partner to the winning post 21-20 in a marathon 26 ends.

The other finalist will be Todd Priaulx who beat Matt Solway 22-13 after coming from 12-6 behind at nine ends.
