Louise comes out on top

THE weather was looking a little uncertain for the recent La Grande Mare Ladies' medal competition, sponsored by the Rabeys Commercial Vehicle Group, and while the early clouds gave way to sunshine, the high winds prevailed to provide challenging conditions.

THE weather was looking a little uncertain for the recent La Grande Mare Ladies' medal competition, sponsored by the Rabeys Commercial Vehicle Group, and while the early clouds gave way to sunshine, the high winds prevailed to provide challenging conditions.

However, the players took this in their stride and although pars were in short supply, some steady scores were recorded.

Louise Loveridge (15, pictured) continued her run of consistent play to take the trophy with a net 65.

Loveridge has had an excellent season and her dedication and practice has brought its just rewards.

She was very pleased with her success.

'I had a good game - and I still left some out there,' she said.

Second place went to Fe Robin (21) with net 66 and third was Glenis Seal (27) on 67.

Winner of the scratch prize was club champion Helen Banks (12) with a gross 83.

Nearest the pin prizes were awarded to Kathryn Touzeau and Loveridge.
