CREASEY'S is expanding into the former Woolworths building.
Next year will see women's clothing and lingerie move from the Smith Street store into the High Street building.
Managing director Tony Creasey said they planned to open up the existing store into the new building. Work has already started on this.
'We are pleased to announce today that we have managed to lease the former Woolworths building,' he said.
'There is some extensive renovation work to be done so it will be some time before we are open. It will be some time during next year. It won't be the first quarter, it will be later in 2010.'
The Smith Street premises will be transformed into an M&S Homeware store, offering ranges of furniture, kitchenware and bedding not previously available locally.
This year has seen Creasey's open up a new store in the former Principles and refurbish the original High Street shop.
Mr Creasey said this was an opportunity to develop the business.
'We think it's great news for St Peter Port,' he said.
