GUERNSEY have the London Two South-West title in their sights.

Another impressive away victory on Saturday, when they overcame Effingham & Leatherhead 8-5, cemented third place for Simon Sharrott's men and they lie just two points behind both Tottonians and Guildford.

'To be honest, we set a target at the beginning of the campaign to win the league and at present we are definitely moving in the right direction, but there is a lot of rugby still to play,' said the Guernsey captain (pictured).

'Nevertheless if our attitude and determination to win games continues to remain the same, then there is no reason why we should not win this league.'

Saturday's victory was Guernsey's third in a row, two of which have come away from home, which has often been the Greens' Achilles heel in the past.

'The game against Effingham was somewhat of a fight against the conditions - the wind was really strong so there was not a lot of rugby to be played out wide,' Sharrott said.

'For the first 25 minutes of the game we were camped in their 22 but could not convert into points.

'However, this start was excellent and the tight five play was some of the best we have ever played.'
