ROSS YEATES (pictured) recorded the fastest time of the day in the 400m freestyle event of the NRG Series staged by the Beau Sejour Barracudas Swimming Club.

While slightly outside of his personal best, he swam a storming race to finish over six seconds ahead of his nearest rival to win the 16-and-over age group in a great time of 4-19.12.

Improving on her personal best by three seconds, Lotte Parfit smashed Gail Strobridge's record.

In a well-paced swim, Parfit was pushed by her older sister Victoria to record a lifetime best of 4-41.18, which was the fastest time of the day overall from the girls, which also secured her maximum points in the Series in the 14/15 age group.

Victoria annihilated her personal best, improving by over eight seconds to touch in a great time of 4-42.26 to win the 16-and-over category.

The second record to fall in the championships went to Miles Munro in the 12/13 age group.

Despite being just outside of his best, he still managed to take Matt Allen's record in an excellent time of 4-39.48 to finish well ahead of his nearest rival.
