ST JACQUES' impressive season continued as they secured a bonus point victory over Jersey Wanderers at the KGV on Saturday.
'I was very pleased with the overall performance but it would have been nice to get a shut out,' said St Jacques coach Chris Griffiths afterwards.
'The forwards played exceptionally well today, in particular Tim Pond and James Travers, but the front row never took a step backwards and evergreen second row Jon Coyde fully deserved his try.
'The first half was frustrating as we made too many errors maybe due to the conditions, however once the confidence was up we played some fantastic rugby in the second half.'
With the conditions being on the heavy side, running rugby was never going to be on the cards. This also played into Wanderers' hands with their heavier pack but they were negated by Saints' scrum who were immense throughout the game.
