CRAIG FARNHAM scored a dramatic injury-time winner last night as Athletics progressed into the second round of the Clydesdale Bank International Guernsey FA Cup.

The recent signing from St Martin's came off the bench to settle the 'home' tie against Vale Rec at the Corbet Field, the venue of the rearranged fixture with the original date at the KGV having been washed out.

And a fine goal it was too, well worked down the inside right channel before Farnham fired home from 12 yards in the 92nd minute.

Less than 60 seconds earlier, another substitute, Dave Cusack, had had a goal ruled out for offside at the other end.

However, generally the second half was disappointing fare compared to an entertaining opening period.

Mark Ramsden had given Rec an early lead but Tics responded well and were level within 10 minutes as Tom Jenkins finished off a slick counterattack following a sublime pass from Vijay Wiltshire.
