ROCKY TROPICS wrapped up the first half of the indoor mixed netball season with victory in the Grant Thornton Finals Day.

Held at the Indoor Cricket Guernsey centre, the Rockmount sponsored team came top in the league and they also reigned supreme in the finals day competition.

'I'm over the moon,' said Tropics' captain and island cricketer Jamie Nussbaumer.

'It was a good way to finish the first half of the season. I'm totally delighted.'

Tropics' first game of the day with Hot Fuzz was closer than the final score of 52-28 to Tropics suggested.

The pinks' shooters of island netball star Donna Brehaut and former Hampshire cricket professional Lee Savident found their range instantly and managed to pop in four goals before Hot Fuzz could reply.

The police side did manage to work the ball well up the court and into the circle where their shooter Nicole Thomas rarely missed a shot.

However, she was frequently denied the opportunity thanks to Tropics' tight defending in the centre court.
