ONE of Guernsey's top boxers is being eyed up for an England spot.

Bradley Watson, who goes by the moniker of 'The Glamour Boy' with his glitzy shorts, is the flashiest fighter from the island.

But he is clearly a serious talent as well.

The 19-year-old light-flyweight's coach at the Amalgamated Boys Club, Graham Guilbert, received a phone call from top Amateur Boxing Association of England official Ted Goreham on Tuesday asking for Watson to go over to the UK next month for a trial for the England amateur boxing squad.

'I hope I get picked,' said Watson (pictured). 'It's more experience for me.'

It is expected that Watson, who has aspirations of turning professional, will fight a current member of the England team and he will be assessed on his performance by the team's coaches.

Guilbert believes his fighter has got what it takes.
