On Friday 5 and Saturday 6 March, the island will take on the English team in a three-match test series at Indoor Cricket Guernsey.

The Sarnians have announced a 13-man squad who include some unfamiliar names in place of established island stars such as Guernsey captain Stuart Le Prevost, Matt Oliver and Jeremy Frith.

These three, along with some other Cobo players who are in the Guernsey set up were not considered as the club did not enter a side into the new winter league.

'We've picked from lads who are playing in the league,' said Guernsey indoor cricket captain and coach Lee Savident.

'The idea is that we make sure that we're picking guys who are playing rather than going out and picking the island squad.'
