GUERNSEY Netball Association president Elaine Creed has handed in her resignation with the sport in crisis and Jersey having dealt a severe thrashing to the Sarnians.

Creed told the rest of the committee at a meeting at the beginning of the month and she publicly confirmed the news yesterday.

The GNA are looking to name their new president at their next meeting on 6 April.

'I did offer my resignation at the last meeting and they've got time to go back and see if anyone steps forward,' said Creed.

'I'm just really looking for new people to come forward and for some of the younger ones to take the lead. I'm 54 now and I've had my day.

'It's time for them to come forward.'

Creed's announcement comes after the island's Senior A side suffered a humiliating 55-24 defeat at the hands of a far superior Jersey team on Sunday.
