Vandals target Corbet

GUERNSEY'S crucial FA Carlsberg National League System Cup semi-final on Saturday could be moved from the Corbet Field after the pitch was vandalised with a quad bike.

An individual or individuals mindlessly rode a small four-wheeled machine all over the soft football field.

That left deep tyres marks, and ridges have been cut into the surface, making it very uneven.

The incident is estimated to have taken place between 9 and 10pm on Sunday night.

'They are just morons,' said the president of Vale Rec, Tony Smith, who spent all yesterday morning working on the damage.

'I can't understand anyone with that mentality.'
