GUERNSEY'S Commonwealth Games cycling hopefuls have turned in some more impressive off-island performances.

Tobyn Horton, Josh Gosselin, Dan Arblaster and James McLaughlin are all aiming to compete in the 2010 Commonwealths in Delhi in October.

The ever-improving Horton (pictured), who is the first professional rider to come from the Channel Islands, rode in the UK Premier Calendar event, the Tour of the Reservoir in County Durham, which is one of the most prestigious events in British cycling calendar.

The Sarnian came fifth.

'I was pretty happy. It went pretty well,' he said. 'We rode really well as a team.'
