DESPITE cheating death in Saturday's sprint at Vazon, Simon Ward has said he has no intention of giving up motor sport.

The 27-year-old Specsavers accounts manager suffered a horror crash when in horrendously wet conditions he ploughed his Peugeot 205 into the sea wall at around 70mph.

He miraculously walked away with no injuries while the back end of his cherished car was smashed to pieces.

'I'm definitely going to carry on,' he said yesterday.

'I've got to cut the back end off and salvage what I can. I'll take my time to build it new and look to come back in August or September.'
